Even though there are set standards for awarding medals, you can still recommend a pilot for almost any medal listed below. The recommendation will be reviewed and acted upon with utmost urgency.
In Order Of Importance
- Congressional Medal Of Honor:
This medal is awarded when a pilot submits at least 200 air-to-air kills per month in three consecutive months. This medal cannot be awarded more than once.- Air Force Cross:
This medal is awarded when a pilot submits at least 100 air-to-air kills per month in three consecutive months. This medal can be awarded more than once.- Distinguished Service Medal
Awarded to pilots who have shown excellent participation throughout the duration of their careers in the 524th.- Distinguished Flying Cross
Awarded to pilots who submit at least 100 air-to-air kills per month in two consecutive months. Can be awarded more than once.- Airman's Medal
Awarded to pilots who submit at least 100 air-to-air kills in one month. Can be awarded more than once.- Bronze Star
Awarded to pilots who submit at least 75 air-to-air kills in one month. Can be awarded more than once.- Purple Heart
Awarded to pilots with the most deaths in two months. Awarded every two months.- Aerial Achievement Award
Awarded to pilots who have the least total damage to their aircraft during one month having flown at least 4 air-to-air battles.- Joint Service Achievement Medal
Awarded to any pilots who have served in a war with an allied unit.- Air Force Outstanding Unit Award
Awarded to the wing with most kills on the brigade kill board in one month. Can be awarded more than once.- Good Conduct Award
Awarded to pilot with the most positive attitude in the brigade. Awarded once every three months.- Outstanding Airman Of The Month Award
Awarded to the pilot who has put forth his best effort towards improving in the last month.- National Defense Service Award
Awarded to all pilots involved in a war against another squadron.- Air Force Training Ribbon
Awarded to any pilot who passes Advanced Training (Top Gun).- Navy Recruiting Service Award
Awarded to a pilot who recruits someone to the 524th. - Air Force Cross:
